Sense of Peace

My one and only wish
Is for a bit of sleep
I am running ahead blindly
At a pace I cannot keep

That sense of gentle peace
It is the only thing I look for
And the tiny wisps I catch
Still leave me needing more

Oh how I would like to be able
To lose myself in the dreams
To forget the troubles of the world
And bask in a world of sun beams

It has been some time
Since I got some rest
A bit of untroubled sleep
For a tired heart is best

Although there is no sickness
Of the body that plagues me
My mind grows weary and weak
I need a bit of rest can you not see

With each day that passes
My growing debt lays unpaid
And the things I have worked for
Before me are unmade

Because of those reasons
A bit of refuge I
Am looking for
So with that I say goodbye

I bid you good health
And a life most fair
As I fall into the dream
And drift into the air
